The Indo-Swiss pair got the better of ninth-seeded Australian-Kazak duo 7-5, 6-3 in a hard-fought quarterfinal. (Federer happy to see 116-game serving streak end at Wimbledon)

Sania and Hingis took over 40 minutes to seal a nail-biting first set 7-5 to draw first blood.

The second set too was neck-to-neck until Dellacqua and Shvedova were broken midway to give Sania and Hingis a 5-3 lead. They went on to take the set 6-3 to win the match.

Sania and Hingis will face fifth seeds Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears from USA in the semis
