Aishwarya Rai (born 1 November 1973), known as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after her marriage, is an Indian actress and the winner of the Miss World pageant of 1994. Through her successful Bollywood career, she has established herself as one the most popular and high-profile celebrities in India. Rai has received several awards, including two Filmfare Awards from ten nominations. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2009 and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France in 2012. She is cited in the media as the "most beautiful woman in the world".[4][5][6][7][8][9]
While in college, Rai did a few modelling assignments. Following appearances in several television commercials, she entered into the Miss India pageant, in which she placed second. She was then crowned Miss World 1994, after which she began receiving offers to act in film. She made her acting debut with the 1997 Tamil film Iruvar and had her first Hindi film release in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya the same year. Her first commercial success was the Tamil romantic drama Jeans (1998), following which she achieved wider success with her collaborations with the filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and Devdas (2002). She won two Best Actress awards at Filmfare for her performances in them. Rai's greatest commercial successes have been the adventure film Dhoom 2 (2006), the historical romance Jodhaa Akbar (2008), and the science fiction film Enthiran (2010). She garnered critical appreciation for portraying Rabindranath Tagore's heroine, Binodini, in Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film Chokher Bali (2003), a depressed woman in Ghosh's relationship drama Raincoat (2004) and a nurse in Bhansali's drama Guzaarish (2010).
Rai's off-screen roles include duties as a brand ambassador for several charity organisations and campaigns; she is a Goodwill Ambassador for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). Following a tumultuous relationship with actor Salman Khan, Rai married actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, with whom she has a daughter.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has become one of the most admired and revered women in India, and in the world.[41][172][173] Mass media has described her as dignified, statuesque, beautiful and charismatic person.[174][175] Despite constant media speculation, she has always managed to keep her personal life well-guarded.[176] Her beauty and performances have made her as a style icon for young women.[177] Over 17,000 websites dedicated to her,[178] she was selected by Verve Magazine in its list of the country's most powerful women.[179] In 2001 Forbes named Rai among the top five Indian movie stars.[5] In a reader poll conducted by UK's Hello! magazine, she was voted "the most attractive woman of 2003".[180] In the same year, Rai appeared in Rolling Stone magazine's annual "Hot List".[181] In 2004 she was chosen by TIME magazine as one of the world's most influential people, and appeared on the cover of its 2003 Asia edition.[182][183][184] She has earned the distinction of being the first Indian actress to be on the jury of the Cannes International Film Festival[185] In October 2004 a wax figure of Rai was put on display in London's Madame Tussaud's wax museum.[186] She was the sixth Indian and the second Bollywood personality—after her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan—to get this honour. In 2007 the same figure was displayed at Madame Tussaud's Museum in Times Square in New York.[187] As her most distinctive physical features, Rai's green-blue eyes, luscious lips, sexy curves and ultra-feminine mannerisms have been cited by the media as her trademark.[188] In 2005 she was the subject of a 60 Minutes profile on 2 January, which said that "at least according to thousands of Web sites, Internet polls and even Julia Roberts", she was "the world's most beautiful woman".[7] The same year, a tulip in the Netherlands was named "Aishwarya Rai" after her.[189] Also in 2005, Mattel released a limited edition of Barbie dolls of Aishwarya Rai in the United Kingdom.[190] The British magazine Maxim ranked Rai first on their list of "Hottest Women of India".[191] Rai appeared on such shows as Late Show with David Letterman, and was the first Bollywood personality to appear on Oprah's "Women Across the Globe" segment. In 2005 Harpers and Queen's list of "Most Beautiful Women in The World" ranked her ninth.[192] In May 2006 Aishwarya was featured in People Magazine as one of the "World's Most Beautiful People".[193] The UK magazine Eastern Eye ranked her third in the list of "Asia's Sexiest Women" in 2006,[194] and she was ranked eighth in 2009.[195] In 2008 American television channel E!: Entertainment listed Aishwarya's eyes as the sexiest on their Sexiest Body Parts list.[196] In 2009 she made appearances on Martha Stewart's show Martha and on the The Tyra Banks Show.[197][198] In the same year Forbes listed Rai at 387th out of 1,411 actors on their list of the most bankable stars in Hollywood. She is the first Indian celebrity who appeared in The Oprah Winfrey Show twice.[166] They have been described as a supercouple in the Indian media[203] She ranked 2nd in The Times of India's 50 most desirable women of 2010,[204] and ranked 9th for 2011.[205] In 2011, she has received a lot of negative publicity for failing to lose her post-pregnancy weight as is apparently "required" of a public figure. However she silenced her critics by walking the red carpet at the "AmfAR Cinema Against Aids" gala in 2012 Cannes Film Festival for the 11th time.[206] Later that year, Rai has made it to the issue of New York Magazine’s list of "Forty Women That Women Find Beautiful", where she grabbed the 21st position in the list, with New York Magazine saying "She may be the "world’s most beautiful woman,” but what we really love is that she never feels fragile onscreen,”.[207] She was considered by the media one of the most popular Bollywood celebrities in India.

Rumours started spreading that Rajini injured himself in the Bandipur forest in Karnataka where he was shooting and he was hurt in the shoulders and ankles. We had clarified with official sources in the Superstar camp and ran the news story that it was a rumour.
Rajini returned to Chennai in the night flight and explained to the journalist that he did encounter a few scratches by thorns in the bushes but is hale and healthy. He also shared that the shoot is completed and Discovery Channel will telecast it soon.
All-in-One QR - Paytm to empower 1 million merchants
January 22, 2020. Chennai. India’s largest payments platform Paytm (owned by One97 Communications Limited) has today announced that it will be onboarding 1 million merchants from Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the next 12 months. The company has recently launched All-in-One QR across the country that has enabled merchants in these states to accept unlimited payments through Paytm Wallet, Rupay Cards and all UPI based payment apps directly into their bank account at 0% fee. Further, it is targeting to achieve a 2x business growth in these states within a year.
The platform offers a single reconciliation of all payments through its ‘Paytm for Business’ app. The company plans to invest in merchant solutions for a deeper engagement beyond payments.
Paytm has also launched its All-in-One Paytm QR into various utility items such as calculator, power bank, clock, pen stands and radio which merchants can use in their shop for daily requirements. It has unveiled personalized QR codes with merchants’ names, logos, and pictures to strengthen their association with digital payments. These QR codes can be ordered from the merchandise store on the ‘Paytm for Business’ app with doorstep delivery. The soundbox is one of the most popular QR merchandise that merchants love as it allows them to hear confirmation of payment receipt. It supports all payment modes and multiple languages. Paytm is making payments more convenient with its dynamic QR for merchants where QR code specific to a single order can be generated which merchants can integrate into any PoS system.
The merchant only app ‘Paytm for Business’ is extensively used by over 10 million Paytm partners. It has enabled them to manage their payments, view all their transactions in one place, order Paytm QR merchandise among various other services. Merchants can also avail multiple business services & financial solutions such as loans, insurance.
