Tollywood Industry Against Censor
Updated on : 15 June 2016

Amidst  many hypes for a 13 cut order by the censor board, the movie'Udtha Punjab' has come clean with the Mumbai High Court order of a single cut. Directed by Abhishekh Choubey, 'Udta Punjab' has Shahid Kapoor as its hero.

The movie centers the drug abuse in Punjab as is intended to be an educative movie. But the Censor Board accused the movie of having scenes that are unacceptable and also opposed the use of Punjab in the title. Moreover, they wanted 89 scenes to be cut from the movie. The crew raised an objection and filed the case with the High Court. The Judge found nothing harming the sentiments of the people in it. He just wanted an urinating scene to be removed from the movie.  With this ends the much controversial censor issue of 'Udta Punjab'.

Earlier Tollywood industry raised their voice against censor board. Telugu Director Devakatta, Lakshmi Manchu, Kanika Dhillon, Actress Rakul Preet vented their rage against censor board. But none of them from Tamil cinema gave their support so far.
