Updated on : 11 July 2017
Actor Selva who had never backed out in declaring his love for the superstar Rajinikanth has completed his second directorial venture 12 .12.1950 , a film based on the die hard fans of Superstar. The film has become instantly popular virally , thanks to the magical title that symbolises the birth day of Superstar.
"We have coined the slogan 'Not just on birthdays, we celebrate his birth everyday'. Rajini sir has been the role model for many all these years. His popularity and presence are two significant factors the tamil audience have learned to live upon.
My film and my hero dwells upon the connectivity a fan have with his idol , and we have consciously avoided references on super star that could have been added for the sake of it. The protagonist of the film anxiously waits for the release of his idols film.
From where he has to come under what circumstances to see the film is the fulcrum of the movie. We have blended comedy with emotions to make the film interesting . Apart from me who play the lead, Thambi ramiah sir plays a very contrasting role that will keep the audience on heels.
Yogi Babu, MS Bhaskar, Delhi Ganesh, John Vijay, Ponnambalam, Ramesh Thilak, Adhavan, Ajay, Swaminathan, Risha, Shafi, Ashwini Chandrasekar, Prashanth, and others form a formidable composition to make this film much bigger than a Fan's film. Music director Adithya -Suriyan has composed the music, Dinesh Ponraj has mantled the responsibility of editing, while Vishnu Sri has very ably supported me as a camera man.
Koteeswara Raju of Jyostar entertainment is the producer. The entire shooting schedule is over and the post production work is in full swing. 12 .12 .1950 is a must watch film for fans, after all we are born or brought up here in Tamil nadu where idols are worshipped too" concludes Kabali Selva . When asked about the movie's genre , "it's 72 % Comedy and 28 % GST. Gangster, Sentiment and Thriller " signs off Selva with a wink !!!
