Updated on : 08 December 2018

The 99 Day Diversity Challenge, India’s first book on Diversity & Inclusion was launched yesterday in the city alongside of an intriguing fire side chat with an eminent panel. Authored by India’s celebrated D & I expert Dr. Saundarya Rajesh, 99DDC is corporate India’s very own guide to implementing inclusive policies at workplace narrated in a tell-tale format.

Launched by an eminent panel of speakers from different walks of life, the session also witnessed a fire side chat on ‘MY DIVERSITY STORY’ moderated by Dr. Rajesh. The panel consisted of Ms. Janaki Sabesh – Story Teller & Media professional, Ms. Lakshmipriyaa Chandramouli – Actor & Sportsperson, Mr. Kalaiarasu, Chartered Accountant & Film Producer and Mr. Singai Ramachandran – Entrepreneur & Politician.

The fire side chat brought to limelight the need for inclusive policies and its impact on workplace across industries.  The vibrant panel representing different industries like Media & Entertainment, Politics and more, each panelist put forth their perspective on inclusivity and need for nurturing an environment that encourages diversity in their respective field of work. Drawing parallel with the book, the chat also witnessed the exchange of personal encounters and stories that have encouraged dialogues on inclusion at workplace and home.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Saundarya Rajesh said “Diversity and Inclusion are Corporate India’s mantra in the recent times. However, with an increased focus on the need for policies around inclusivity among workplaces, there is a gap in understanding and nurturing an environment of inclusivity rather than merely implementing policies. 99DDC is a guide to sensitize not just leaders and D&I heads, but also anyone who is willing to start the conversation around inclusivity. I am confident that 99DDC will hand hold companies into adopting policies that nurtures, encourages and sustains inclusivity anywhere.”

As India’s first ever guide to implementing D&I culture at workplaces, the book provides a complete, starter-to-desserts detailing of D&I concepts and offers a precise explanation on the different strands of diversity along with the future of D&I thoughts. Written in an engaging, gentle, light-hearted way, Dr Rajesh demystifies the vast subject of Diversity and Inclusion for the business leader, the diversity enthusiast and even the young curious professional. Filled with interesting stories spanning different genres the book sequentially uncovers what Diversity and Inclusion means and how this can be absorbed by just about everyone.

Published by SAGE Publications, The 99 Day Diversity Challenge TM is priced at Rs. 495 and is available for pre-order across ecommerce platforms like Flipkart, Amazon, Infibeam and book stores near you.
